We can care or you or your family/clients in their own home. We cater for an extremely wide range of disabilities and have in-depth knowledge to enable to you to stay safely and happily in your home whilst maximising your independence. We cover the South East and Cornwall.
We can enable you to stay in your own home for longer.
We can offer an immediate service and/or as and when you need it.
We can provide Total care for personal tasks unable to be undertaken or Personal Assistants.
We can provide assistance with bodily functions such as feeding, bathing and toileting.
We can provide assistance with dressing and helping you in and out of the bath, preparing meals, and assisting with cooking and shopping. We provide assistance to attend social functions such as concerts, attending day centres and libraries etc.
We can provide assistance with encouragement and supervision such as prompting a person to take a bath and supervising them, including emotional and psychological support, including the promotion of social functioning, behaviour management and assistance with cognitive functions.
Heart of the South Care are registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), they form the criteria by which the outcomes and regulations will determine whether the Agency are able to provide the regulated activity of personal care within your home.
These guildlines acknowledge the unique and complex needs of the individuals, and the additional specific knowledge and skills required in order to deliver a service that is tailored to the needs of the person. The organisations registration with Care Quality Commission (CQC) enables us to provide care/support to the following individuals:

Individuals with physical disabilities
Individuals with sensory loss including dual sensory impairment
Individuals experiencing ill mental health
Individuals with learning disabilities
Children and their families
Care and Support Workers will be providing the care jointly with the person needing assistance, encouraging them to do as much as possible for themselves in order to maintain their independence and physical ability. Support Workers can provide care to people with a wide range of disabilities, helping them to maximise their own potential and independence.
The Standards that the Agency adhere to are:
Carrying our risk assessments at the first point of contact to protect the client and the support worker, and to ensure that all equipment needed to safely care for the client, and to maximise their independence.
Carrying out an initial care needs assessment, to ensure all needs are fully met and the right carer with suitable experience is put in place.
Ensuring we have an agreed easy to understand contract for the supply of services.
Ensuring we have confidential, responsive services.
Ensuring Service users plans are up to date and relevant.
Ensuring strict guidelines on privacy and dignity, autonomy and independence are followed.
Ensuring relevant up-to-date records are kept in the home.
Ensuring policy's on Recruitment and selection, development and training, qualifications and supervision of staff are strictly followed.
Keeping records and following up complaints and compliments.
We provide a 24 hour service to enable people from 0-100+ to recuperate or remain in their own home rather than going into a Residential/Care or Nursing Home. Also we support families, giving assistance and respite care for the family's either whilst present, or covering for work times and break times.
All of our carers are chosen for their experience and caring natures.
They have good verbal and written communication skills
They are all patient and pleasant.
We are certain of their honesty and integrity. They all undergo CRB police checks, and are checked with POVA and POCA(Prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults and children).
We undertake regular reviews with you to ensure your needs and the quality standards of your care are met.
Our personal assistants and carers can live with you in your own home, supporting your independence(see "live in" under services)
We believe that everyone should be able if they so wish, to live independently in their own home, with freedom and dignity, and control over their life.
We have many happy clients living in their own homes and enjoying freedom to live as they always have with the support of a carer, who will stay with you as long as you wish.
It should be noted that our carers are not "fly by the nights" with the majority employed by us for three years or more and staying with the same clients, a level of continuity that benefits our Clients enormously, often our carers become trusted and loved long-term companions, understanding your needs and able to interpret and address any changes in your life.

You may be interested to know that there are various forms of funding available to help individuals and families with the costs of domiciliary and live-in care. The government provides financial assistance, advice and other forms of support to most elderly, sick and disabled people who need help with their personal care or nursing.
Attendance Allowance is a tax free benefit for people over 65 who need help with personal care such as getting in and out of bed, washing, eating, medication or mobility, or because they can become confused and need someone to watch over them.

A taxable benefit for people such as friends and family members, who look after someone, who gets Attendance Allowance or Disability Living Allowance. Extra expenses can be claimed for paying a third party to provide care while you are out.

Community Care Direct Payments
As an alternative to giving you community care services, councils are obliged to offer you Direct Payments (if you meet certain conditions) to pay for your own private homecare arrangements and related activities such as shopping services.
Social Services can also suggest special equipment to make life easier for you, e.g., grab rails and bathroom aids.

Continuing Care (NHS)
Your every nursing and care need is entitled to be paid for in any setting including in your own home if, following a short clinical assessment, your local health authority agrees your health needs meet their criteria for funding. This may amount to more than £1,000 per week in aid which can be spent, for example, on 24-hour live-in nursing, night nurses or daily respite.

Disability Living Allowance
A tax-free benefit for children and adults with a disability or illness who need help with getting around or personal care and who claim before the age of 65.

Independent Living Fund
The top-up fund that works in conjunction with Social Services. ILF pays grants to people with high support needs who wish to live independently. ILF disregards a clients earnings and that of partners so you can earn without losing any funding.

Long-term Care Insurance (Care Fee Payment Plans)
This type of insurance pays out a tax-free income if you become unable to cope on your own. The income can be used to provide private help in your own home. Most insurers offer an immediate care insurance scheme for those who need immediate and on-going care; normally you would pay a single premium, with the amount based on how long the insurance company thinks you will need care.
You should check if any existing health insurance policies you have would pay the cost of your fees.
